ORLANDO (August 16, 2021) –
Pop Warner Little Scholars, the nation’s oldest and most prominent
youth football, cheer and dance organization, which earlier this year announced
a multi-year deal with Florida Citrus Sports (FCS) to make Universal
Orlando Resort the new home of its historic Pop Warner Super Bowl, today
released details of an enhanced experience for its National Cheer &
Dance Championship week beginning in December 2021.
The Pop Warner Super Bowl and National Cheer & Dance
Championships combine to draw 10,000 Pop Warner student-athletes and
their families to Orlando from around the country and internationally
each year.
Under the new agreement, Pop Warner’s cheer and dance athletes will compete at one of the nation’s premier event destinations, Orange County Convention Center (OCCC),
and experience world-class attractions as part of Universal Orlando’s
award-winning theme parks and destination-wide amenities.
Pop Warner and FCS are building off of last year’s provisional event
at OCCC and Universal Orlando, adding next-level experiences like
meet-and-greets with beloved Universal characters, Universal-themed
décor, music and more. Other enhancements to National Cheer & Dance
Championship week include:
-
New Lodging & Entertainment: Hotel
accommodations at Universal’s Endless Summer Resort – Surfside Inn and
Suites and the Dockside Inn and Suites, as well as expanded
entertainment options, such as accessing the theme parks prior to park
opening with Early Park Admission.
- Premier Attractions: Admission to all three
Universal Orlando theme parks, including Universal Studios Florida,
Universal’s Volcano Bay and Universal’s Islands of Adventure – named the
#1 Amusement Park in the World for five years in a row by TripAdvisor
Travelers’ Choice – and home to some of the most thrilling and extreme
coasters ever created.
- Exclusive Party: Private, after-hours event inside Universal Studios Florida theme park exclusively for Pop Warner athletes and their families.
“We
are very excited to bring our National Cheer & Dance Championship
week to the next level with Universal Orlando, and can’t wait for all
our athletes and their families to experience this incredible event,”
said Lisa Moroski, Pop Warner’s National Cheer & Dance Commissioner.
“Florida Citrus Sports is dedicated to ensuring our athletes compete
and celebrate at the highest level, and we are thrilled to be working
with them.”
"Our team is committed to delivering the type of first-class
experience participants and their families have come to expect from the
Pop Warner Cheer & Dance National Championships over the years,"
Florida Citrus Sports CEO Steve Hogan said. "We're delighted to be
working with our partners at Universal Orlando Resort to bring Pop
Warner's incredible vision to life, and we can't wait for this year's
festivities to kick off at the spectacular Orange County Convention
Center in December."
