In Pop Warner football, when a new program, in a brand new league has a winning season, that’s big news. But, when that brand new crew not only makes it to Orlando, but is one game away from a Pop Warner National Championship…well, that news is HUGE!
And, after their convincing wins in both their quarterfinal and semifinal games here at Pop Warner Super Bowl 64, that’s exactly where the players and coaches of the KC Dynasty 10Us find themselves as proud representatives of Mid-America Region’s new KC Metro League.
For these guys, this entire amazing 2021 Pop Warner season has been chockfull of "firsts." As Head Coach Brandon Dye tells us,
"Some of our kids played Pop Warner in the ‘Heart of America’ Division as Jr. Pee Wees. But, for others, this is their very first season
of playing any level of football. It’s their first trip on an airplane, a first visit to Universal Resorts, and a first time playing in a huge stadium."
Coach Dye adds,” When we got here the first day and toured Camping World Stadium, one of ours kids just dropped down on all
fours and kissed the turf!”
The KC Dynasty 10U’s march to a 2021 championship in the Mid-America Region, and a bid to Pop Warner Nationals, has been
especially exciting for Region Director Craig Davis,” The last time a Pop Warner team from Missouri won it all was the Ft. Osage Jr. Pee Wee team back in 2015.”
And, here’s thing. The KC Dynasty 10Us are not the only Pop Warner football team to make its first appearance at a Pop Warner Super
Bowl week.
With “Age-Base” play growing like crazy across all regions of Pop Warner, more teams and more players from all over
the country have helped to make this first year with Universal and Florida Citrus Sports a winner for everyone.
Craig Davis and Coach Dye give great thanks to everyone who pulled together financially to make the KC Dynasty 10Us trip to Orlando a reality.
Coach Dye says that when the team qualified for Nationals they were some $18,000 short in being able to afford the trip. But then, “We
were actually caught by surprise at how much the community stepped up and helped us to reach our goal.”
Team Mom Renee Carter reflected on just what this means to all,
“They are afforded the opportunity to travel. Some have never been out of town before. Some have never been on a plane before. This is a big deal!”
Experienced or not, first-timers or not, the KC Dynasty 10Us have stayed focused, played well, and brought the “WOW! Factor “ to their time, all-week, here at Pop Warner Super Bowl 64. With a talented offense and a rock solid defense, they have, to date, outscored their opponents by identical 28-0 scores!
And, perhaps fittingly, Coach Dye tells us, “For the Tuesday night Pop Warner Party at Universal’s Islands of Adventure, their favorite
ride was the big elevator that shot straight to the top” (aka “Dr. Doom’s Fear Fall”).
The KC Dynasty 10us have definitely shot to the top of Pop Warner “Age-Base” competition for 2021! And, their next stop?
Championship Saturday!
Good luck in the big game to brand new, can do, KC Dynasty 10U!
